Done

That's right, I'm done with another book. That brings my grand total to 2 this year. Yippee.
I know it seems small, but I'm gonna brag.
Brag - a - lag - lag, if I had a tail it would wag. <----- I have no clue where that came from. Just popped in my head. Kinda weird. Kinda scary. Kinda whatever. I don't want a tail just for the record.
I just finished book #2. So I am well on my way to 5.
So far I read a book on parenting, Kid CEO by Ed Young. And a book on fear, Fearless by Max Lucado. Both were great. Now bring on #3!

Long Week

This week has been L-O-N-G!

I have put in one of the longest work weeks that I have ever had this week. And if I ever wondered if it was worth the 50+ hours that I was there this week this pictures makes it all worth while:

This picture was taken Friday night, it was when Bishop T.D. Jakes did the final alter call. What an amazing moment. Over 100 people gave their lives to God right there!!

If every hour of work translated into a life changed for eternity, it is worth it.

I wasn't in the room. I was working. But I could feel the energy radiating from the people inside even through the walls. They cheers were shaking the roof. It was Amazing!!

I Think I'm Cool

Yesterday I got this book:
Then I got to meet him :)

Im Pretty Sure This May Be A Chain Letter

A friend of mine gave me this Beautiful Blogger Award. Looks kinda girly, but I'm going to go with it. With it comes the stipulation that you must post 7 random facts about yourself on your blog. That is why I think it is a new age chain letter, but it doesn't require me to buy 7 stamps so I'm just gonna give it a go:

1. I married my high school sweetheart and fall more in love with her every day. It all started one morning in sophomore physical science class. She sat right in front of me and I laid a kiss on her right out of the blue. Caught her by surprise, that's how I roll. It worked!!
2. I was in martial arts as a kid and loved it. Taught me discipline and respect that I am thankful for to this day. Also I broke a kids arm and leg in a tournament one time, Chuck Norris style.
3. I have a special love for a steak cooked medium-rare. Moo.
4. If you blow your nose in my house and throw the Kleenex in the trash can in the girls bathroom my dog will eat it. It is disgusting. I know this because he just did it, right now as I am typing this.
5. My three year old is sleeping in her sunglasses right now. She is a diva, and I love it.
6. I am scared of reptiles. I try to play it cool but it seldom works. They make my skin crawl.
7. I love to sing. This will be a surprise to many, not my wife, unfortunately for her she gets to hear me sing often. It isn't a pretty sound. And often I don't know the words to the songs I sing but it is something I enjoy. And if Garth Brooks comes on the radio when you are around me you to will get to hear me sing.

Snow!!

When it snows in Texas we all talk about it. It is a buzz everywhere.
So I will be no different. We are so excited this morning to see that it is snowing, and its even sticking to the ground. We were so excited that Landon even asked to build a snow-ma'am before we even finished our oatmeal. She really is a girly-girl, she even wants girl snowmen. We are just bouncing around with energy.
So while the girls were at the table I suited up to face the elements. Pajama pants, hooded sweatshirt, woolly socks, crocs, and some gloves. And there I went, out into the frozen tundra. I squeezed a couple snow balls together and stacked them by the door so they could see. I was pretty proud of the display. When I came in Landon greeted me with a plastic carrot from her kitchen. She is awesome. After we looked around for arms and eyes, we decided on a plastic fork and spoon for arms and M&Ms for eyes. She knows how to take a snowma'am to a whole notha level. It was the perfect Texas morning snowman.
After a quick camera phone picture we ate the eyeballs and now we are back to watching Handy Manny. Later we will do it again. Maybe the next one will get a picture with the real camera, that is if the eyes make it longer than 30 seconds.....

Number 5 is Alive!

I set a lofty goal for myself: read 5 books by the end of the year.

It may not sound like a lot for many, but for me it is huge. I am one of those people who reads every word. So I am S-L-O-W. And despite taking speed reading classes I am still pokey. So I know it is a stretch but it is a goal, so I'm going to give it a go. I have read 1 already and am currently about 50 pages into #2. So I'm on pace to hit it. Yippee.

(I loved Short Circuit as a kid, that is where the #5 reference is from. Johnny 5 is awesome!)

On a side note; I already know a gift I will ask for in April for my birthday, a book light. Isn't that random?

Pastor Ed

As we all know from the news and twitter my pastor was attacked yesterday and called greedy. This is something that is extremely hard for me to stomach. It has bothered me all night and all day today, I can't keep my mind off of it. I want to. I want to put it in the past and just refer to it as garbage, but for some reason I want to stand and fight. I know he is a trustworthy and honest man. I know he lives a life of transparency. I know he is doing a Godly work and glorifying the kingdom daily. That is why it is hard for me to sit and hear him attacked. I know he doesn't need me to stand up and scream and shout, but by golly I'm irritated at the journalism that was displayed.
So instead today I sit and pray. I pray for whats about to happen. One thing that I recently learned from my pastor is this; if the devil starts to attack, you can be certain that right around the corner God is planning something big. And lets get ready!

So if there is a soul in another part of the country that needs to be saved, and the only way that they will experience to love of God is for Pastor Ed to share the Word with them. Then let my tithe money go towards jet fuel to get him there. (I hope there are a lot of others tithing because my part might only get him to the end of the runway.)

The Child Years and Coffee

I always kinda liked coffee. I liked coffee flavored things: cake, ice cream, candies. But now I like COFFEE. I was wondering if this had anything to do with being home all day with small kiddos.......Yes, of course it does. So now I am on the bandwagon.

Today I started thinking about correlating the number of cups to the age of my children. For example; when the oldest was 1 I could live on 1 cup. 2 years old = 2 cups, and so on. The problem lies that I continued to have 2 cups a day (partly so I didn't begin to shake uncontrollably). Now I have 2 children, ages 3 & 1. So that equals 4 total years, so only logic follows that I should be drinking 4 cups. That's what I am trying today.

Maybe I have unlocked a mathematical equation to successful parenting.

On a side note I started reading a book called Kid-CEO. It is about parenting. Wonder if it will have the magic formula I just discovered?

Time Travel

Last night was the season premier of Lost. And I was super pumped. I love this show, I love getting consumed by it, I love getting involved in the story line, I love the mystery of it all, I love getting lost in it. So it was a great night for me.

After going through 3 hours of show I was exhausted. Mentally and physically (it ended at 10, sadly that is way past bed time these days). So when it was over I woke Mandi up so she could go to bed, she is a slacker and couldn't stay awake, and I threw on a sweat shirt and my crocs to take the trash out to the road. In the cold and dark of the street I looked around and noticed everyone had forgotten to take out their trash cans. Oh wait. Our trash day is Wednesday.

So in the event I guess I thought I was a time traveller. So I toted it back to the house and tucked myself in, where I had Lost dreams :)

Yippee!! I love this season!!

This is what Im JAZZED about......

That's right. C3 2010 is almost here!! I am super stoked about what all is going to go on in just a couple of short weeks at Fellowship Church. This is the conference of all conferences in my mind. Kinda because it is hosted by my church and kinda because it is AWESOME!! This year we are putting C3 and C3kids in the same week. Wow. An action packed week. A week that is sure to change the world. Now that's big time right there.
I am so excited to be able to be part of the host staff that is going to be putting this thing on. I am thrilled to think that I am a small part of this team. I'm not a pastor, I won't be speaking on stage, I may not even talk to an attendee. But I will be doing my part. I will be a piece of the team. And to think about the impact that this team and this conference will have on the future is amazing.
Here a couple of links to show you whats going on:
A video from last years C3kids - sure to get you fired up!
